What is Polish food…

Well, despite having grown up in neighbouring Germany, I only have a very vague idea of Polish food. But then again, I think the last time I was in Poland was before a teenager yet.

So you might forgive me if all I can I think of are potatoes and cabbage, meat and sausages, stews too… I can see plates of dumplings with sour cream… And poppy seed cake… I imagine Polish food to be somewhere between the Russian and German cuisines.

But the next couple weeks will certainly teach me that there is so much more!
